Welcome Pacific American Families! School is right around the corner (one week) and we are thrilled you will be joining us.
The portable classrooms are being installed this week! I am sure the 2nd and 3rd graders will love the newness of the rooms... They even smell like NEW.
In case you have not been the school lately, it has been beautifully painted and there are changes taking place each day.
Continue to spread the word about the NEW charter school in the area...
Remember, small class sizes = SUCCESS

Project Based Learning
At Pacific American Academy, we use Project Based Learning to enrich the lives of our students.
Students are asked to answer a question or find a solution to a problem while working with peers. This requires students to work with one another, share ideas, and think critically.
According to the Buck Institute for Education, "In Project Based Learning (PBL), students go through an extended process of inquiry in response to a complex question, problem, or challenge. While allowing for some degree of student "voice and choice," rigorous projects are carefully planned, managed, and assessed to help students learn key academic content, practice 21st Century Skills (such as collaboration, communication & critical thinking), and create high-quality, authentic products & presentations."
Vision & Goals of PAA
Vision
Pacific American Academy (Pa'a) is one of the first schools on the mainland to promote culture based education, as well as conventional learning methods. Our academic program starts from kindergarten to third grade, and hopes to eventually expand to sixteenth grade as approved by our charter. The educational program will be further developed to include vocational training and life skills for students to be productive citizens of their respective communities.
Goals
The students will:
Be inspired to attain knowledge and become life-long learners
Learn a variety of life skills to become competent and self-motivated learners
Participate in cultural learning through indigenous language, storytelling, music, dance, and art.
Develop critical thinking and problem solving skills to utilize within the academic curriculum and in everyday life situations.
